About Us

The Centerport Garden Club holds monthly meetings which feature speakers, workshops, or field trips, covering various aspects of horticulture, floral design, conservation, landscape design, pruning, birds, the environment, recycling, water gardens, and specific plant families. Occasional field trips are taken to gardens, arboretums, flower shows, or nurseries. Sometimes an evening meeting is held with a speaker on subjects of interest to husbands and friends as well as members. We’re a group of dedicated women who enjoy sharing our knowledge and our love of nature, gardening, horticulture, flower arranging/design with each other as well as with members in the
community.

The Centerport Garden Club continues to present a flower show approximately every 1 ½ to 2 years. This is a judged show which is governed by the National Council of State Garden Club rules. The purpose of the show is not only to teach our own members and showcase their work, but also to educate the general public on matters pertaining to design, horticulture, and conservation. Displays on conservation, recycling, civic beautification, and endangered species help achieve this goal.
